This month I will be giving workshops, talks and demos at RHS Wisley, Harrogate Flower Show, the Permaculture Festival and running courses at my homestead. I hope you can join me at one or more of these events.
RHS Wisley Flower Show
I’m looking forward to returning to RHS Wisley Flower Show on Saturday September 7th to give two talks in the Hilltop Live Lecture Theatre: Sustainable edible gardening – how to grow your own food year round, affordably.
Catch me at 1pm and 3pm. Also there on Saturday is Adam Kirtland and Manoj Malde.

I’ll be heading to the event bright and early due to the roadworks on the motorway near Wisley. It’s well worth allowing more travelling time than usual.
Harrogate Autumn Flower Show
Next week, I’ll be heading up to Yorkshire for the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show at Newby Hall. There I’m hosting the Pick and Preserve Stage, with three different demos every day covering seasonal preserving and homesteading skills.
There’s a packed programme filled with talks, demos and interesting discussions, alongside exceptional floral displays and fantastic stalls selling regional produce and more.

Gardening and Homesteading Skills Courses with Stephanie
My final sustainable gardening course of the year at the homestead is on Saturday 21st September – there are one or two spaces left – more info and to book here. The homesteading course and private preserving workshop on 22nd and 23rd respectively are fully booked. Dates for 2025 will be online later in October.
Do look out for some online zoom talks and demos which I’ll be offering later in the autumn and over winter.

Welsh Permaculture Gathering in Abergavenny / Gŵyl Paramaethu Cymru 2024
I’m looking forward to attending this event on Saturday 28th September, running a homesteading skills demo and workshop. There’s a full programme including talks, workshops and more. It is a family friendly event with a forest school for children.

October 12th – Perennial Veg course here at the homestead. This is being organised by an outside group and I’ll share costs and how to book a place when I have the details.
October 15th – No Dig Gardening Talk for Bronwydd and District Gardening Club (Village Hall, SA33 6BD) at 7:30pm
Wintertime
I live in a very rural location and most of my journeys involve driving across remote countryside with spectacular landscapes and mountains. This is an absolute joy, but is also why I don’t give evening talks and workshops during the winter months, unless for very local groups. It is a bit hairy driving home late at night on these country lanes, especially if the weather is awful.
