No dig and seasonal food talks – Carlow Festival July 27th 2022
27th July 2022

I am delighted to be hosting an afternoon of talks and a supper club at Shankill Castle in Kilkenny, Ireland on Wednesday 27th July. This is part of the Carlow Garden Trail, which runs from July 22nd to 1st August.
For more information and to book, visit here.
There’s more information about the event and some of the speakers – including myself – in the Irish Times.
I visited Shankill Castle a few years ago. It is a gorgeous location, with a family run organic farm and extensive grounds.
The afternoon of talks will have plenty of time for questions and discussions, and I will been signing books should you wish to buy a copy.
3 p.m. No Dig Gardening €10
How to set up a no dig garden in home gardens, allotments and smaller market gardens, looking at different methods and techniques. Explores best mulches, keeping the plot weed-free, sowing methods, composting, plant foods, harvesting and more.
5 p.m. The Creative Kitchen – seasonal plant-based recipes for everyone €10
A practical talk on how to use seasonal produce from the garden in the kitchen. Covers cooking, recipes, tips for preserving and using gluts, and much more.
6.30 p.m. Garden Supper Club €40
A three-course farm-to-fork seasonal supper club hosted by Stephanie Hafferty in an al-fresco setting (or under cover if necessary!). Accommodates both plant-based and omnivore diets.
